Celebrated an 80th birthday at Gallo yesterday evening. We were a large group. Owner was present and we were well looked after by his friendly and accommodating staff. Food was most enjoyable and full of Portuguese flavour. From starters, to mains, to Pasteis de Nata, we could not fault them. Thank you (again) for a memorable evening.

I love Portuguese food the flavour is just so rich. Having the tapas Platter was the perfect flavour combinations. Chicken livers, prago and calamari. Try the fried pap it’s a treat. No liquor license yet so I tried the rock shandy and steelworks

Absolutely delicious calamari. And the chicken with xai xai sauce was also amazing. Great service too. Reasonably priced. Venue is simple and clean.

We had Prego roll and chips, and chicken trinchado for supper.
The Prego steak was soft and succulent. So tasty. Just with the right flavour.
My wife couldn’t finish the trinchado. It was so much.
For breakfast we had the egg, bacon toast and tomato with strong coffee. For only R50.00.
You just can’t beat this value for money.
We really enjoyed both meals here. In a row.
And the staff are so cheerful and happy to help.
